S – Streptococcus: The infection is caused by Group A Streptococcus.
C – Circumoral pallor: The patient may exhibit circumoral pallor.
A – Accentuation of linear erythema: The erythema in the skin folds may be accentuated.
R – Red “strawberry” tongue: The patient may have a red “strawberry” tongue.
L – “Sandpaper” texture to skin: The skin may have a “sandpaper” texture.
E – Enanthem of white evolving into red: The enanthem starts as white and evolves into red.
T – Trunk and extremities affected: The erythema begins on the face and spreads to the trunk and extremities.
