- N – Nodules: Subcutaneous nodules may be present in patients with rheumatic fever.
- O – Occurring: Erythema marginatum occurs as annular papules and plaques.
- D – Developing: The lesions evolve and resolve within hours.
- U – Unilateral: The rash is usually unilateral, appearing in waves over the trunk and proximal extremities.
- L – Link: Rheumatic fever is linked to Group A Streptococcus infection.
- E – Erythematous: The rash is erythematous in nature.
