Neck pain is a common complaint, and there are many potential causes. Some common causes of neck pain include poor posture, muscle strain or sprain, whiplash, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, osteoarthritis, and spinal stenosis.

N – Neck pain and stiffness are common symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis affecting cervical facet joints.
E – Erosive disease can lead to atlantoaxial subluxation, which can cause forward displacement of the atlas on the axis and produce neck pain.
C – Careful assessment is important when subluxation is present to identify early signs of myelopathy that could be a harbinger of life-threatening spinal cord compression.
