Low back pain with radiculopathy is a condition where there is pain and/or numbness that radiates from the lower back down into the legs. The treatment for this condition can depend on the severity of the symptoms and the underlying cause.

  • R – Radiculopathy is a common cause of back pain.
  • A – A herniated disk affecting the nerve root can produce back pain with radiation down the leg.
  • D – Diagnostic nerve root blocks have been advocated to determine if pain originates from a specific nerve root.
  • I – Improvement may result even when the nerve root is not responsible for the pain.
