Disseminated Vibrio vulnificus infection is a severe and potentially life-threatening condition caused by the bacteria Vibrio vulnificus. While Vibrio vulnificus is commonly associated with foodborne illnesses from consuming contaminated seafood, disseminated infection occurs when the bacteria enter the bloodstream and spread throughout the body.

  • V – Vulnificus: This is the bacterium responsible for the infection.
