Arcanobacterial Pharyngitis Rash : How To Remember Easily ?

  • T – Trunk and proximal extremities are affected by the diffuse, erythematous, maculopapular eruption.
  • R – Rash involving the trunk and proximal extremities may desquamate.
  • U – Uncommon cause of pharyngitis is Arcanobacterium (Corynebacterium) haemolyticum.
  • N – Notable in children and young adults.
  • K – Known to cause exudative pharyngitis.
  • D – Desquamating rash is seen in this condition.
  • U – Unilateral lymphadenopathy can be observed.
  • N – Noted in the presence of exudative pharyngitis.
  • K – Kissing disease should also be considered when evaluating lymphadenopathy.
