Anterior Uveitis : How To Remember Easily ?

  • S – Slit-lamp examination helps identify inflammatory cells in the aqueous humor.
  • L – Laboratory evaluation is reserved for patients with recurrent or severe anterior uveitis.
  • I – Inflammatory cells can be seen floating in the aqueous humor during slit-lamp examination.
  • T – Topical glucocorticoids are used to reduce inflammation and scarring.
  • L – Lyme disease is one of the conditions associated with anterior uveitis.
  • A – Anterior uveitis develops in various diseases, including ankylosing spondylitis.
  • M – Majority of cases of anterior uveitis have an unknown cause.
  • P – Pupil dilatation reduces pain and prevents synechiae formation.
